    • I am 28 years old and began writing in high school. I started with a paper, pencil, and a clipboard that I carried everywhere and then the school purchased several Alphasmarts. The one I borrowed should've just been carved with my name on it. I made so much progress with that thing, I ended up writing two full novels.

In 2002-03, I met someone online who read my word and told me in the most polite way possible that I sucked. I quit writing until October 2006 when I decided that I couldn't possibly be any worse and I wanted to write just to write. Since then, I've gotten four more novels written, three of which are fanfiction. I never thought about publishing until a month ago when I decided a fanfiction I'm working on had a solid enough story to be published. Of course, I'll have to change it up, but I'm in the editing stage on it anyway.

Some of my experience, I joined Boise's Novel Orchard and National Novel Writer's Month, both of which set a challenge called The 500: five hundred words a day, every day, for a year. To win, you write 360 days out of the year. I only missed two and I was the only one in my area to win. I also joined Read. Write. Live., a writer and critique group that set assignments and then had its participants critique the work.

Unfortunately, neither group worked out long term. Now I am looking for another group who can help me on my path to writing engaging fiction. :)

        • My list is alarmingly short. Harry Potter series, and a few other books, but I can only say JKR is my favorite author. o.o'' I'm even pickier about my books than I am my movies. I'm horrible, I know. But I can say this, if you hear me say I love your work, you've pleased a tough critic. :)

        • Uh... well, I love Ever After and a few other movies, but I'm extremely picky about my movies. I'm not pleased with just anything.

        • I think Loreena McKennitt would have to be my favorite, I love most of her stuff. I love Garth Brooks. I have a few opera songs I like. I like a lot of "popular" stuff, some obscure stuff, and basically if it pleases my ear, I like it. :) Eclectic to the core, I suppose. But, I have noticed that if I like the sound of the music or the artist's voice, my opinion changes if I don't like the words. That's happened to me a couple times, actually. I'll still listen, but nowhere near as often. :)

        • If it's got Chef Ramsey, I like it. :) Other than that, I may watch Big Bang Theory with my mom just to have another half hour with her, but I try to avoid TV. I don't like it that much. Now, if you want to talk animations, I have a few Japanese animations that I like, such as Darker Than Black, and the American-Japanese style animation Avatar: The Last Airbender. Admittedly, the third book is actually my favorite. Books one and two were so hard for me to get into, I have no idea how I survived to see book three. Must be Solqua's fault. Anyway, others I've liked, Erementar Gerad, InuYasha, Black Cat, Kyou Kara Maou was funny, FullMetal Alchemist, and a few others I can't think of right now. Oh well.

        • There's no section for video games, so I'll put it here as the comics I enjoy are also games. :) My favorite games of all time are the Tales Series, but mostly Tales of Vesperia. I do love Tales of Symphonia and I do like Tales of the Abyss, and the others are good too. ToS and ToA have both become Japanese animations, and ToV recently released a prequel movie, also Japanese animated. (I know I have to be killing some anime fans out there XD). Anyway, I also enjoy Legend of Zelda, but that's pretty much it. I'm a very picky person.

        • I don't read many poets unless lyrics to songs count. If that's the case, I really love anything Loreena McKennitt writes. Her words always captivate me. Garth Brooks also has great lyrics. If songs don't count then the Raven by Good Ol' Poe is probably the extent of my knowledge. I'm sorry, I just don't get poems. That's not for lack of trying, though, I promise.

        • Fanfiction.net! 8D But I also like stumbleupon.com because I input "writing" or nothing at all and always find myself entertained. That's how I found writingroom.com. I also love Nanowrimo.org, dictionary.com and its partner, thesaurus.com. Oh come on, there has to be some non-writing place I go regularly, right? Aside from school? Oh boy... o.o''

        • It's hard to find heroes when I'm secluded in my own little world so much, but I do have a couple live heroes and a couple fantasy ones. My mom and dad are amazing people. They taught me to be a work horse. My best friend Solqua has always been there for me as has my sister. For fantasy, Flynn Scifo from Tales of Vesperia. I've never met a living, breathing human being who can make such huge mistakes and own up to them so thoroughly. He never made excuses, he never blamed anyone else. He took full responsibility for his mistakes. How many people do you know can do that when the mistake is huge enough to affect the world? Likewise, Flynn's best friend Yuri is the kind of guy who knows where he stands, he does what's right, even if it means bloodying his own hands, and he'll do the things no one else wants to do. They both have a trait that I value the most above all others: loyalty. In fact, all my heroes do. :)

        • XD Oh jeez, I have a whole file of favorite quotes I put in my random tidbits file. Far too many to list, though. In case you're wondering, they come from stumbleupon, real life, or online, usually.

        • A life outside of writing and Tales of? o.O Never heard of it... I would like to try my paw at fish raising again. Someday I'll ride horses and travel. One goal at a time, though. I still have my more immediate goals to set up first. School, freelancing, and getting out from grooming dogs. Maybe I'll volunteer with Habitat for Humanity just because.
