" He killed any love I heard for him..." Jada sobbed into the phone. Mary had never heard her friend sound so distraught. She had known her friend was having problems in her marriage but had never imagined it could get to this point. When she asked what had happened, Jada sobbed some more. Apparently her husband had been cheating on her. Between sobs Jada told Mary that she had decided to file for a divorce. After an hour of cajoling Jada agrred to go on a trip with Mary. After all she had no kids to worry about and she just wanted to get away....

Mary sat at the edge of Jada's bed, supervising the packing. "I'm a big girl Mary. I can pack myself." "I know your a big girl." Jada tossed a moo-moo of a dress into the suitcase. "No way!!!" Mary yelped as she tossed the bed sheet of a dress out of the suitcase. "You're a single woman now, show off that tiny body of yours you have been hiding, and get ready for the vacation of a lifetime."

Jada shot Mary a look that quickly silenced her. Continuing to pack, Jada glanced around the room and at the last minute tossed in a small picture frame that beautifully surrounded a photo of her and her husband on their honeymoon. She shut the suitcase and said, "Let's get out of here."

Jada was silent for most of the drive,  so when Mary ran out of mindless chit-chat she let the first radio station she found, fill the silence.  She was devastated for her friend, though she was trying her best not to show it, supporting Jada was her most important task right now.  She needed Mary to be strong, not join her in the pool of man-hating self pity.  Seeing a sign for a cafe, Mary decided it was time for food.  They both needed all the strength they could get.
