Summer Swims

Summer swims
in the heat of
moonlit nights
where days
bleed out
in purple ribboned
lines.
The shoreline
beckons the swimmer
for a cool respite
never the anger
of forgotten winter
waves.
Sing out
the salty sweat of
burning days
where bodies
mesh
under the blanket of
stars.
Jacknifed dreams
are lost in the
yellow maise
where night
illuminates
the suns fading
flame.

I like this a lot for it describes my summers to the letter. I really liked the jacknife dreams for that is one of my favorite dives to do off the high board. Thanks for the memories!!!
