Carthia, The Battle

When someone’s nervous, there’s this strange tingling sensation in the pit of their stomach. Like it doesn’t know how to go away or how not to show up at all. It just comes and goes as it pleases. Attacking its victims at random.

Have you ever had an adrenalin rush? For instance, you’re doing something impossible and you feel like you have to do it. Nothing can stop this feeling, not even a gut instinct. Still the victim works on pushing the feeling away. But they fail once more.

One last time, the nervous victim gets targeted again. It’s not going down without a fight. A fight it will win.

On a night much like tonight; cold, rainy, and just plain miserable; a young girl named Emma ventures off to defend her life. A man is after her, he’s evil and sinister. He’ll only be happy with her dead. He’s the man she must kill in order to survive.

Though Emma knows she has a very good chance at failing, an adrenalin rush takes over and changes her mentally. The trusted Knights and her loyal subjects are at her side. Awaiting their chance to strike, an opportunity to become the heroin in history; someone more than what they are.

With the rain pouring down harder, the group makes their final decision and the Country goes silent. They know that in order to survive, they must do this.

The first step is taken, followed by the second and the third. Hearts begin to race, the battle had begun.

Synopsis
This is the Prologue to my first book, Carthia, the Battle. This part picks back up at the very end of the book. Chapter one starts the story and by the end, the prologue repeats. Let me know how you like it or what would be nice for me to change, it would be appreciated.
