Heartland
I've been visiting somewhere special,
where everything is strange to me
and the light is pure.

My demons live here.
I leave out bread and milk for them,
not to placate them
but because they're mine.

I set traps for them
to help them grow strong.
They return the favour.

Demons in many shapes and forms.
A thousand such creatures drift by,
each one a fragment of mirrored glass.
Together they reflect me.
I am introduced to God through them.
