2011-04-18 Work

Without passion everything feels like a challenge

No want to apply any due diligence

All energy invested seems like effort

Friction rubbing against the wrong cog

Unyielding against the grain

Even the nourishing rain

Feels more like an opportunity to drown

a negative spin keeps me down

Trying to find something I'm good at is tricky

I'm very selective and picky

I need the work and money is tough to find

But anything won't do I've got to like my grind

Minimum wage in my stars

Dwindling options won't get me far

Don't know what it is about hard-work I fear

I just know it's been another year

Thank you for your kind words, StarPoet. I've missed our conversations. I am continuing to learn and hone my craft. Learning to express myself in all avenues and enjoying the journey.

Hiya Bitten its good to see you back. But the time away has not diminished your skills any for you have once again created a poem that is brilliant. What makes it so is that it is simply expressed and so truthful and honest. Many, many can relate so much to this. Another earned "10". I think you have just scratched the surface of your writing potential and that if you choose to go deeper, you will amaze yourself and the world.
