Sweet Endings

The end of a year

The end of an era

New beginnings turn into

Mundane routines

Familiar faces

Familiar places.

We shall not forget our roots,

The people who started this journey with us.

Our paths may diverge

But our hearts beat as one

And I know

If - no, when - we meet again

It will be just as sweet

Just as innocent

As the children who first stepped into

This grown-up playground.
