curtain of tears

These past two months I have watched the march of death.  I lost two friends, one the same age as I and one much younger.  Mixed in with this are the passings of 4 media  greats.  I react to so many deaths as I feel I grow closer to the top of the list.

CURTAIN OF TEARS

It's one of those times in my life
When my heart cries out to all,
Because of all the trouble and strife
I'm feeling very small.

This isn't small of the humble kind
Like everyone should be.
But small and tired in my mind
And rest won't set me free.

There is a hurt deep in my chest
Near where my heart should beat
And I know before I'm allowed to rest
There's one more task to meet.

The task I'm needing yet to do
Can be the hardest one of all.
The folks in here are very few
That will help you stand up tall.

Yet everyday you have to face
Those painful soul tearing fears.
More and more your safety seek
Exposed in a curtain of tears

It really seems so very hard
To try and release the pain.
I stand alone here in the yard
With tears stored up like rain.

I can tell you what I need
To make this pain go by
It's a simple kind of gentle need
Just hold me while I cry.

I agree with Jan, This is a sad poem:( but aside from that I enjoyed the read, the rhyming and specially the thought... Thanks for sharing.
