Vacation: Funny As Expected Sequel of National Lampoon’s Vacation Film

There is a great chance you are going to love Vacation if you like Hangover Series and Horrible Bosses. This film is considered as the sequel of National Lampoon’s Vacation film series. Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) plays the son of Clark W. Griswold. In 1983, same character was played by Anthony Michael Hall and later on other actors have been playing this role. Rusty in this movie is a man with a wife Debbie (Christina Applegate) and two sons one of whom is James (Skyler Gisondo) and the other is Kevin Griswold (Steele Stebbins). They are all living in Chicago. 32 years ago though, Clark had a son and a daughter but still the basic concept in this movie is not so different.

Rusty works in a small-budget airline firm as a pilot who flies passenger jets. His plane avoids a crash because of his senior co-pilot. Debbie is faithful and helpful wife but she wants some impulse and change in the relationship. James is nerd and Kevin is always mocking him with his foul mouth. A cross country road trip could cause them all to come nearer to each other. So, Rusty gets ready to take all his family from Chicago to Walley World, California by road as he misses his own family trip a lot. He rents a Prancer’ unlike the Family Truckster’ of his father. This car is much more interesting because of its two oil tanks and the strange plug that will probably not fit any outlet on this earth.

If you have seen the original series and you compare Vacation with them in every respect, you will probably not like the film very much. Also, if you have not seen the original series meaning you cannot relate this one with the previous ones, then too you will possibly not enjoy it very much. In other words, if you are a fan of the real Vacation and you have see it as its new version not exactly as a sequel as this one has its own qualities.

In the first few minutes, you may not like it a lot but you have to wait till the fun actually starts. The director has related the movie with the previous one in such a beautiful way that you will not have to listen to the same old jokes but still you will experience the connection there have been quite a few references to the previous movies. If you are going to see this movie with little kids, it is not a good idea as it is an R rated movie and there will be nude people in it. There are many dirty words in it that were cleaned for originals by best vac reviews .

Everyone has acted great. Christina Applegate as sexy as ever with the two kids as funny as they should be. And of course Ed Helms did an outstanding job. Though some might not be expecting him to be so good but he actually nailed it. I highly recommend this movie and specially if you watch the original movie a night before, you are going to love it the most.
