We could make the world a great place.
Perhaps the most perplexing thing I see in my practice as a professional nurse is all the many ways we as humans could help each other. There are so many resources we as individuals could provide to help one another and for some reason we don't do it. For example, how many elderly people could use a simple companion for tea. Once a week an elderly person could look forward to having tea, coffee, whatever with a person willing to give of his or her time. How much of a difference would that make? Small things such as these multiplied by the power of all the willing humans out there could really make a difference. What else? Everyone has stuff they don't need or want. Everyone has needs of these items. Why not connect and meet each others needs? So many things we could do but we don't. I know, I know. The news is filled with tragic stories that stir up resentment, fear and harden us over time. What a shame eh? We have so much potential as humans and since the beginning of time, we fail ourselves.

Well said. I agree. And that's exactly why I watch very little TV. The little things indeed: The flapping of a butterflys wing contributes to a hurricane. I believe TV is rarely an accurate portrayal of the human condition. I believe we are extremely cooperative and compassionate by nature.
