Assassin
He reached into the glove box
Then took the folded notes
It had gone the way they said it would
With countless, doubtful votes

This morning he received the text
His target now was red
Before the sun had chance to set
He new he must be dead

His car pulled from the pavement
As his journey then began
He new the route by heart now
It was set out in the plan

There was no seen emotion
As he went about his work
It had left him many years ago
Now he dropped it with a shirk

As he closed upon the manor
He left the car to walk
Approaching from the south
He heard the guards in talk

Then skirting to the annex
He entered due to plan
Then carefully he made his way
To traverse all its span

Now entering the main house
He drew his silenced gun
It would not see its holster
Till it's job here had been done

Ahead he spied a guard now
He took him with one shot
The guy was clearly slacking
His vigilance forgot

Then close now to the chamber
Where he new his target lay
He steadied for the task ahead
Got ready for the play

Bursting through the oaken doors
He took each guard in turn
Then turning to the president
His bounty now to earn

A single bullet left his gun
That now the people freed
The proceeds from his daring
Would now pay for needed seed

I like this for you used word so skillfully to tell the assassin's story. And to do it in poetry form makes it even better. Great job!!!!!
