Christmas Health & Safety

Arthur woke on Christmas Eve

Much as he did each day

From then it was a frenzy

Just to load the readied slay

The elves just kept on bringing

There were piles and piles to stack

There was no time for coffee

There was no time to slack

So breaks were out of question

As he dumped each pile, each stack

The working time directive

Was seen here to sadly lack

Once loaded to the gunnels

With just string no tensioned strap

He just set off on his journey

Way beyond the land of Lap

He shimmied down each chimney

With no harness, hat, nor horn

Made sure each child received a gift

Before the coming morn

For Arthur then a full twelve months

To recover rest and play

For the rest of us a journal

Of what we do from day to day
