Dormant
On an island stands a mountain
With a castle at its peak
It hides some gruesome secrets
That non now will still speak

Its battlements lie empty
Its corridors forlorn
Its moat still deep and treacherous
Intruders so to warn

No light shows from its enfilade
Its bailey overgrown
Though still within its confines
Sits a presence at its throne

It awaits a predetermined date
To reinstate its rule
His dormant army inert
Till his order to refuel

Then as one they will activate
Then take back what was lost
The islanders can only fear
At what will be the cost
