November

November chill is in the air

Go out and meet it if you dare

Or stay beside the wood stoked fire

I know for me the best desire

As snow is piling forming drifts

There’s still to buy our Christmas gifts

So like or not our place to go

We have to battle through the snow

To busy shopping malls and stores

Bedecked in goods on all their floors

With hurried shoppers clutching bags

As time goes on our spirit sags

Though lifted by the festive lights

That cancels out the darkened nights

A towering tree festooned in balls

Then all the hectic market stalls

A hurried time with just one goal

To make a day that lifts our soul

So keep it up and bear it through

I wish a merry Christmas just for you
