The Tower

Atop the sea swept cliff side

Stood a tower of just purport

It was anchored in so deeply

As any man could force support

It had held some mighty garrisons

Of fighting men held true

Then through its many years of life

Had lost but just a few

It had withheld many clashes

Of men at arms and war

Though it tumbled with a hardened frost

With then a sudden thaw
