Winters Cloak
Winters coat surrounds me now
Can spot no furrows of the plough
Its cold, encroaches, ever seam
On its white blanket moonlight gleam

A harsh time we must all survive
In need springs warmth to growth revive
Where buds will sprout and flowers will bloom
Forgetful of this winters gloom

For now we seal the windows tight
Aware of winters wary might
Then stoke the fires as best we can
Till springtime’s refuge has began
